sunshine here we come. hopefully.

so excited, tomorrow morning we leave to see my family. we are staying with my parents but heading over to beautiful san francisco for my nephew's 4th birthday as well. can't wait!! lots of photos when I return!

here is one I took a few weeks ago. Jack wanted to go fishing. so we went and found a creek and he fished with his stick. it was so much fun. that is one of Jack's favorite things to do, is to get outside, play and run around and get dirty. just like any other little boy.

mommy + Jack conversation

here is how it went:

mommy: "Jack did you have a BIG day today?"
(he tried out a new daycare + Nanny Maria both came today)

Jack: "Yes! Mommy went work and I cry."
(as he pouts his lip and looks down and takes his fingers and runs them down his face like tears)

mommy: "You cried. Jack?"

Jack: "yes, ma. I cry, you go to work. no more work."

Just as I am about to well up in tears myself, he says....

Jack: "no more work ma. I take ma's work and throw it in the trash, ma so now no more work for Ma"

Ohhh, how I hugged him tight and laughed. I love this age.

pregnancy.

3 months from today is my due date. Why do they say pregnancy is 9 months when in fact it's 10 months? I'm 4 days shy of being 7 months pregnant. here are some pathetic photos for those of you that have asked what I look like. It's very hard to take photos of yourself. I'm going to have to have Mike take some for me so that maybe you can actually see my face.
xo

I call this one barefoot + pregnant + blue toes

Of lately, I have been eyeing these things.

Check out Chewing the Cud I love the reusable cloth gift wrap!! Wouldn't you love to receive a gift wrapped so beautifully and then be able to reuse it and pass it on to another sweet friend? I would be smiling all day...

These are adorable!! Whether this baby is a boy or girl, I intend to get many of these. Do you think if it's a boy he will forgive me?

jack. 3 years old.

three. years. old.
what a big boy you have turned into.
I hope I never forget this beautiful stage you are in.
running. laughing. playing.
talking up a storm about everything and anything in between.
we hang on every word you speak as if you are a prophet.
we laugh with you more times then we can count in a day.
just this morning as daddy was leaving to go to work, you say "big hug daddy." daddy gives you the biggest hug and then you say "big hug for ma, too" and daddy gives me a big hug and you reach in an give us a big hug.
one. BIG. hug.
it was the best hug - EVER.
tears in my eyes at 7:30 am, before my first sip of coffee. thank you for that.
at three years old jack, you constantly amaze us and our hearts flutter every day....because of YOU.
thank you for helping us to remember
what is important.
L.O.V.E.
we love you more then a million kisses and all the ice cream in the world.

this is becoming a problem.

Wow...I know they say women space it when they are pregnant and it seems I am no exception to this rule. Let's back track a few hours today....I'm leaving the house to go do some work at Starbucks and notice that a banana sounds delicious, so I grab it, kiss Jack goodbye and go to my car. Sitting in Starbucks I look in my purse for my banana and can't find it. "hmmm, that is funny. I know I just had that darn thing, where did it go?" Perhaps, I just left it in the kitchen as I was walking out. Two hours later....I walk back out to my car and get in and drive home. Just as I pull in the driveway and get out low and behold there is my damn banana!! Sitting on the hood of my car!! What???? Yes, my banana sat on the hood of my car the entire way to Starbucks and back!! I seriously have to wonder if strangers who saw my car wondered why there was a banana sitting on the hood of it??? "Who is that crazy girl with a banana on the hood of her car?" And because I don't go anywhere without my camera, I took a photo of it just for you to see.

P.S. I wish this were the only case of me leaving food on my car....but I wholeheartedly admit that just a month ago, I found a piece of jelly toast that had been riding around on the hood of my car...oh...for about 3-4 hours while I was out running errands one morning. Apparently I forgot I was trying to eat some breakfast as I ran out the door...do you think this is a recurring problem??

book.review.

I just finished reading "the red tent" by Anita Diamant. This book retells the story of Dinah, which is a biblical story in the book of Genesis, Chapter 34. The book recounts Jacob and the murderous behavior of his sons and is told from Dinah's perspective and the point of view of the women around her. Whether you are familiar or not with the story of Jacob and his sons from the bible - it does not matter.....PLEASE go out and buy a copy as soon as you can...it's a MUST READ.

Beautifully told, this book is about being a mother, the love of sisters, friendship, the bond that ties all women together, the beauty of being pregnant, the miracle of giving birth. I couldn't put it down. Run, don't walk to your nearest bookstore.

Next up on my list is from the author of "eat, pray, love." Elizabeth Gilbert...I instantly fell in love with "eat, pray, love" and knew that when her newest book was released "committed" I would have to go buy it....just bought it yesterday and stayed up late into the night reading it.
